One of Shakespeare's best-loved comedies, Twelfth Night was 'blissfully reborn' (Telegraph) for the 2012/13 season at London's Globe Theatre, under the direction of Tim Carroll. The hilarious tale of misdirection and deception is performed here by an all-male cast, among whom we find Mark Rylance as Olivia and Roger Lloyd-Pack as Sir Anthony Aguecheek. The production also marks Stephen Fry's triumphant return to the stage as the pompous Malvolio, ridiculous in his yellow stockings. Watch Huntsman’s Head Cutter and Creative Director Campbell Carey in conversation with Sir Mark Rylance on stage at the Apollo Theatre. Sir Mark Rylance stars in "Jerusalem" as Johnny "Rooster" Byron, in the 16-week run of Jez Butterworth's trailblazing play. For his role, Sir Mark once again turned to Huntsman to create part of his stage wardrobe. Of all the tribulations of bespoke tailoring, there is none more trying than asking a Cutter to create a suit that doesn’t quite fit- but that’s exactly what was required for the role. Using vintage cloth Campbell worked closely to design a garment as Sir Mark Rylance revises his role in this iconic play, 14 years after starring in the original production. Campbell joined Mark in conversation on stage ahead of his performance. Watch as they discuss the nuances of designing his suit, and how Sir Mark uses the physical cues from his wardrobe to refine his characterization. Of course, this is not the first time Huntsman has created garments for Sir Mark. In the 2022 Gangster Thriller, ‘The Outfit’ Huntsman created Sir Mark’s wardrobe for his role as a bespoke tailor. The stars and director of Inland, a strange, enigmatic and engrossing thriller that finds a troubled young man returning to his hometown in the wake of his mother’s disappearance, talk about their film as part of the 2022 BFI London Film Festival, presented in partnership with American Express (5-16 October). Fridtjof Ryder makes a striking, boldly cinematic debut with this intense puzzle piece. Tensions, repressed memories and desires threaten to surface when a young man (Rory Alexander) is released from psychiatric hospital. Elegantly shot, intuitively edited, and expertly sound-mixed with a haunting score, Ryder conjures an experience that moves with the logic of a nightmare, building towards an unforgettable, strangely moving conclusion. Making vivid use of location filming in the heart of Gloucestershire, this refreshingly offbeat film draws heavily from the work of David Lynch, Nicolas Roeg and rural horror cinema, but has a mood and feel entirely of its own. Shot on a micro-budget and featuring superb performances from newcomer Alexander and Mark Rylance, this is exciting filmmaking from a new voice in British cinema.
